QNX 6.2.1 commiting suicide on boot !

Hello

Well, I’ve installed QNX succesfully on one machine, and now i’m trying to set it up on a 850MHz machine with just a keyboard and a 2GB HDD.
The install went OK, but now when i’m booting it says:
Hit Esc for .altboot…(load of dots)…S

And after that "S’ it just hangs there.
The fact is the ‘S’ comes so fast that I can’t do anything except watch it crashing.
I managed to make it run into safe mode using the CD to boot, but I want to unplug the CD drive so I’m looking for a turn-around.

Any idea ? Thanks in advance

The … (dots) are from the boot loader, the ‘S’ means no OS signature was found. In other words, the boot loader tried to find the OS image.

Things to look for are cabling issues - if you only have one drive, make sure it is primary master (assuming IDE).

I have also seen this happen when the drive changes geometery - usually because a bios setting was changed from when it was installed (goes from LBA to Auto). Perhaps the bios does something different when there is a CD connected?

Changed drive and now it’s working… Thanks !
