Do you get both server and client working, or just the client?

It’s for OpenSSH4.0p1
I get both server and client working, but sftp don’t.
When I connect sftp, I may read help, change dir remote or local, but when I put, get or ls SIGSEGV found.
Also server refused all connection when starting under inetd.

Does the “server” give the right controlling tty? A quick test would be to login to your ssh “server”, and run a program that requires controlling tty (such as “su”, or “passwd” ).
