booting with pcmcia?

Is it possible to boot pc104 computer(qnx6.2.1) with compact flash memory inserted pcmcia slot?

Yes it is but unlikely. This feature is NOT OS dependant, it must be supported by the BIOS, in general they don’t support booting over PCMCIA. It means the BIOS would have to initialise the PCMCIA controler, then scan for device and then initialisaze the card. Most BIOS don’t even bother ;-)

However if the PCMCIA support PCCARD (which PC104 rarely support unless it’s PC104+) then there is more chances of BIOS supporting it since it look like a PCI bus, but then the PCCARD comact flash memory is not found a standard HD addresses, thus is ignored.
