Realtime clock is being reset

I am using QNX 6.2.1.
My realtime clock is being reset
after I enable the periodic interrupt enable (Int 8h).
It will read correctly until it reboots then it goes to January 1, 2002.
Any ideas how to fix this? :confused:

Enable periodic interrupt enable (int 8h) what’s that?

Is the RTC going to Janualy 1, 2002 or the OS clock (as reported by date)?

IRQ #8 will be what is ment.

My guess as to the problem is the cmos is getting modified resulting in failed checksum when the bios next boots. This will cause the bios to reset the cmos back to previous settings or factory defaults.
