Hi folks,
I’m a new QNX user…After configuring the TCP/IP network (I
think this works now) I want to configure on the QNX node a
default printer which is on a NT machine.
I know that this problem has been encountered by a lot of QNX
user, but in all the messages I read, I did not find the method
described step by step.
I read the well-done helpviewer topic and managed as it is
described using lpsrvr…creating the lpsrvr.node file…but if I
understood it right, the lpsrvr utility is only useful for a
remote printer on a QNX node. I also read that I’ve got to use
the “lpd” utility but how can I tell to the QNX node that I want
to print on a remote NT printer?..Should I had in the hosts file
the IP adress of the printer or the IP adress of the NT spooler
on which the printer is located?..
Finally (hope this explanations were not too long), could someone
tell me step by step how to do?

try samba and smbclient with the option “-P”. there are a lot of tricks
within the samba suite …
good luck.

I forgot to mention:
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/samba/docs/faq/Samba-Server-FAQ-1.html
there you get an idea of what samba is etc.
