Watcom compiler 10.6 wlink

I am trying to get the watcom 10.6 32 bit compiler to work. I can get
it to process an object file but when I link it it fails. I am using
QNX4

This is what I do.
wlink file testfile.c

This is what I get:

Loading object files
searching librarys
Error(3002): ** internal ** - format not decided

The testfile is very simple and just includes stdio stdlib.

Thanks for any help.

Normally one does not directly use wlink, and if one did, you would
have to use testfile.o and not testfile.c

Try cc testfile.c' or even make testfile’

Never invoke either wcc386 or wlink directly – there are a bunch of
finicky options that you have to get just right, and if you don’t, you
won’t get a valid QNX object – and you might not even get an error.

Run the Posix front-end to the compiler – cc.

That is:

cc testfile.c -o executable

Or, if you just want to link:

cc testfile.o -o executable

Or, if you just want to compile, but not link:

cc -c testfile.c
