Stupid newbie question here

Greetings gang,

I’m positive you get this question all the time, so I’ll keep it
short.

(a) I understand the free version of QNX is not available yet (called
Photon correct?)
(b) What can I get now?
(c) How much does it cost?
(d) Is what is available right now going to be compatible with the free
version, or should I wait?

Thanks much gang

No, called QNX Realtime Platform. Photon is the graphical environment
from QNX. It is currently avaliable as v1.14 under QNX4 and NTO2.1
(which are different kernels from QNX). However, the Realtime Platform
will have v2.0, a much improved version of Photon.

You really cannot “buy” what is going to be found at http://get.qnx.com/
in the coming weeks. The closest that is around is QNX4 and Photon v1.14,
but that is not nearly the same as what is coming.

Be patient, it will be worth the wait.
