Watcom C++ version 11.0

With the possibility of porting Watcom C/C++ 11.0 to QNX, I have some
questions:

  1. Is version 11.0 of C++ still ARM or is it ANSI?

  2. Will QSSL open-source the C/C++ libraries for Watcom 11.0?

  3. If not open-source, will QSSL sell library only licenses (at reduced
    price)?

If the community makes the port, we would be willing to pay for QNX4
libraries to offset costs to QSSL for updating to version 11.0,
especially if we can get to ANSI C++.

I think it is ANSI.

I heard the main reason why QSSL could not release GNU compiler for QNX4
was that some parts of libraries/headers were (C) Watcom. AFAIK, they
even attempted to port GNU libc to QNX4 and I’ve heard it was done,
although quality is uncertain. Don’t see a reason why not release
libraries then, especially assuming their new business model.

They appear to be going to use Dinkum C/C++ library, although I’m not
sure if it will apply to QNX4.

Note - Watcom 11.0 was available as a cross compiler for QNX4 from Windows.
We were in the Beta and used it successfully to compile code for QNX4.
The only thing was we couldn’t use the 10.6 debugger as the file formats
differed between 10.6 and 11.0
But as for the libraries - they must already be available as the Watcom 11.0
cross compiler worked fine for both C & C++ for a long time.
