digital voice recording with QNX4

Hi All,
We have a system that digitizes voice radio traffic using old
Brooktrout (was Rhetorex) ISA cards in QNX 4.2X. The cards could
record/playback 4 channels of audio and had jacks for accepting regular
audio (line in/out) cables instead of telephone lines. We are trying to
find a replacement part that is still in production, preferably a PCI
card. Does anyone know of a vendor that supplies cards like this for
use with QNX? Should I just be looking for A/D boards?

Thank You,

Mark

Coould I use the ALSA 2 drivers for QNX 4.25 and a late model Sound
Blaster card to do this?

Please, see http://www.retia.cz section Digital Data and Voice Recorders.
The system ReDat is running QNX, there are analog and digital interface
boards available, PCI is beeing prepared.

Hi Mark,

I’m using a plain, ordinary soundblaster 128 (PCI based) with some
“voice activated” recording software I wrote (email me if you want a
copy – it’s not quite ready for prime time yet) to record phone calls.
I’ve had pretty good success with this. Unfortunately, it’s only two
channels (left and right, but they’re treated independently) per card,
but you could always jam more cards into the system

Cheers,
