Booting qnxrtp.exe problem

I downloaded qnxrtp.exe (for windos) and installed in the win partition.

I was able to boot into qnx rtp, played with it for ~ 2 days… then the
next day when I tried booting qnxrtp …

I got that msg “/.diskkroot file for root not found on any filesystem.”
then booted in safe mode then got the msg “warning
[/pkgs/base/safe-config/etc/system/package/packages] doesn’t seem to
exist. Cant access package config file. Unable to access packages.”

I’ve tried to uninstall & reinstalling the package, but still got the
same msg. Now I’m not able to use the qnxrtp… shucks :frowning:

Pls advice…

Dzulbokhari

I’ve got the same problem !! How can I solvge it ?

I wrote the things below. Still no response (maybe the qn has been answered
somewhere else, I dont know). I know ppl are busy here, but would appreciate
if anyone can direct me wher to go for newbies. I would like to instal/load
& play around with the qnxrtp. again.

Thanks.

Well I’ve installed it couple of time / including the 24MB download
that’s now availeble/ and didn’t have any problems…

The “file system” is set in G:\program files\qnx\boot\fs

where G is the FAT16 partition on wich the QNX is installed

try deleting manually all the files there after uninstalling (in the
uninstall you are asked if the root.qfs shuold be left - tell the
program to remoe it)

Probably the problem is with not properly removing the file system or
changes in the partition table… (have you installed/reinstalled any
bootloaders, windows, etc…?)

Before you buy.

Do you have an EZ-BIOS overlay installed? QNX doesn’t like it one little
bit.

I’m using Award BIOS.

Somehow, after several attempts (ie install, uninstall, format-reformat,
reinstall-reuninstall, downloading, reinstall… etc… tweaking here and
there), I’m able to boot QNX RtP again… phew… I do not know what I did. I
tried to back-track to recreate the problem but unsuccessful. I do not have the
slightest clue of what may have caused my problem.

Anyway, I’m able to use again my qnx rtp.

Thanks Jay.

Sincerely,
Dzulbokhari

Hope none of you are useing a third party disk protection program such as
Norton Utilities, It doesn’t like changes in your fat tables.
