QNX-RTP first impression.

Been a long wait since I first tried that floppy demo last year
sometime…

Got the ISO image overnight. Installed into a windows file, all went
well.

Only 2 problems.

  1. STB nVidia Riva TNT card not recognized. Using VESA driver @ 60Hz
    YUCK! Got a headache.

  2. Aureal vortex soundcard not supported, no big deal at the moment.

No other problems found as yet.

Should keep me busy through the winter evenings

the graphic drivers obviously need some more work…
…I don’t get any higher than 60hz either,
althogh my card is identified properly …and it
only works in 800600 …looks twisted and screwed up in 1024760
…perhaps scitechsoft releases a neutrino-version of the displaydoctor
stuff.
now it only works in the obsolete qnx4

vortex driver can’t be released for GPL reasons. A non-GPL version
is in the works. You should try QDN for the TNT card. It should work.

Thanks for the info.

well I recently made an install from w98 and within 15 minutes it run -
all of it including Photon 2.0
very impressive.
Only thing: how does it switch to German characters. Maybe I did not go
to deep into it. I just spent
half an hour on investigating it …

I did it on 3.32, from opening the CD cover to being logged in as root.
I actually uninstalled it to take time

Anyway, it is the fastest OS install I ever have done.

I agree, now if I can get it to work well with my computer.
