MPEG Problems (Repost)

Greetings,

I have problems running MPEG movie files in the media player. Actually, I
cannot run any MPEG files in the media player.

I searched the knowledge base and I noticed the cause was a problem with the
sound card. It does not appear that I have any problem with the sound card.
I can play WAV and MP3 files without any difficulties. Also, I have no RAM
issues ‘pidin in’ reports 168 MB/192 MB available.

When I try to run the any MPEG I get a fairly large (perhaps 800x600)
rectangular blue window appearing for a perhaps one or two seconds. The
windows disappears and the dialog box saying the plug-in terminated
unexpectedly is displayed.

I would be happy to provide any information that would help with debugging.

PS. Sorry about the duplicate message.

please start phplay from the command line and try playing
the mpeg movie that came with RTP.
post the printouts on the command line when
it crashes. This should give me what I need to help
you. Have you tried changing video modes on your card
to see if it helps. 1024x768 x 24 bit color seems to
be best tested on some video cards. What video card
are you using?

What type of video card do you have?
Could you post the output of: pci -v
and /usr/photon/bin/show_vesa

What resolution and color depth are you running RTP in when you try this?
