Hi all,
this is a newbie question par excellance, I would guess.
Anyway, I planned to reanimate my old computer and fell over QNX, which seems
to be worth playing around with.
I wonder now, if it is worth while trying to install QNX RTP (Neutrino) on a
SIS 5511/5513 board (video and audio on board) with 16MB (two of them for
video) and a 100MHz Cyrix 6x86 M1 processor? The box has W95 running at the
moment. (And yes, it is as slow as it sounds)
The plans I have with that machine is playing around with a UNIX clone and
with networking, e.g. connecting to a W98 machine or using it as a firewall
later, C++ coding and stuff like that.
For all that, there is no high prio on photon, although a graphical interface
is always nice.
I know from the web, that this board is not supported (at least, I found
nothing) and all I get, when I install it is VGA 640x480, 8bit.
So before going any further, I thought I save some nerves and ask here.
Any answer is apprechiated.
Regards,
Uwe

16M is not enough to run QNX RTP with Photon. If you
stick with text mode it wonât be too bad, but I donât
think youâll be able to compile nothing but small app.
