Free IDE for gcc?

I’ve downloaded QNX RTP a while ago, I must say I really like it (much
better than the short time I tried Linux). Does anyone know about a
free IDE for the GNU C compiler. I’ve used RHIDE before under DOS and
thought maybe the linux version could work under QNX, but this didn’t
work (core dump) recompiling RHIDE didn’t work either because of some
missing header files and other errors.

There are … but you have to install at first the glib-1.2.8 and gtk++1.2.8,
exactly in that sequence. These libs compile with some minor difficulties …
After ‘make install’ download the GDE at

http://www.student.tue.nl/u/g.zwartjes/

It is a nice little IDE … could just be a good starting point for further
developments. A more professional IDE (based also on plain GTK) is available at

http://vdkbuilder.sourceforge.net/

You have to install at first the VDK toolkit … but there are some problems
with the internal editor of VDKB … or with XPhoton.

BTW: PVM + GMAKE_pvm (+ Python bindings) will be available in a short
timeframe … Python 2.0 works now with Tkinter, Gtk plus IDLE, the IDE for
Python. (Sourceforge, PyQNX)

Seasons Greetings to All

Have you tried GNU Emacs or gIDE?

http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs
http://gide.pn.org

I know that RTP has a flavor of GNU Emacs, and that’s my preferred code-
wrangler. Quite powerful, and it uses the gnu debugger that’s stock on
RTP…

Best of luck–
