What or where is XPhoton?

From doing web searches I think Xphoton is an emualtion for X on
photon and it might be some where on the web. Currently my QNX
rt system is network blind, could someone point me to a description
or download site?

TIA

Xphoton is a X server embedded in Photon. IMHO … it is an important
improvement of the capabilities of Photon. You can recompile any X applications
without major problems … and you can start these apps directly under Photon.

It’s a hot and very promising piece of software … I’m waiting for the next
stable version

It is one of packages. Should be on your CD if you have one. Download
image on Windows if you don’t. XPhoton translates X protocol stream into
Photon events. Can work with or without root window, in latter case you
have X apps managed by Photon window manager. There is some limited
cut/paste capability and there might be some drag/drop support later
(for Motif I guess).

Performance is good enough for ‘normal’ apps but graphic-intensive ones
will suffer due to lack of MIT/SHM support.

There is no docs available for Xphoton … how can I use Xphoton w/o a root
window ??

Hmm. That’s default mode
When you start X application under Photon, it will connect to root-less
XPhoton server (if you have it installed). To run with root window
pass -kiosk option to Xphoton.
