QNX 4 to Siemens S7-300 PLC

Help!
Does anyone have any idea how I can connect my QNX 4.25 system via Ethernet
to a Siemens S7-300 PLC?

Thanks
Steve

Hello,

Sorry, because my English is wrong, but I have an idea for the problem.

For Simens S7-300 exist a communication card. Do you could show the type in
the Siemens catalog, from the http://www.siemens.com web site. The
Communication Guide is also purchasable from Siemens. The communication is a
simply socket communication over TCP/IP.

What kind of problems are you having. Do you have a
supported card with the driver running already? If so, what
protocol does the Siemens use? QNX has a TCP/IP package. If
it is something else, you might need to develope something
using the Network Raw Packet Interface.

Profibus is not a proprietary of Siemens … because Profibus is a
real ‘Open Standard’
See http://www.profibus.org → FAQ and you will see that Siemens
was only one of many foundation members.

And BTW … we offer PROFIBUS DP masters for QNX4 and QNX6 for 3
different board vendors.
(SST, Softing, Siemens)

With the Siemens S7-300 you have the posibillity to use theses PLCs
as slaves and your QNX system as a master … or the S7-300 as
master and your QNX system as slave.

This works at a speed of 12Mb/s … the time resolution of the
communication between a QNX master and a QNX slave goes down to
20us.
