Net Boot via bootpd

I have a QNX client node that is booting from a boot server using bootp, and
I have an interesting problem. When I setup my bootptab file to use a
static image file (bf=/boot/images/node.2), the thing works like a champ.
However, if I try to build the image on the fly (bf=|cd /boot;buildqnx
…), it will reply to the bootp request and start up tftp, but it never
starts running the sysinit.2 script. Just gets stuck in the middle
somewhere.

Any ideas? I did notice the warning about running tftpd as root, so the
inetd.conf file uses a user named tftp.
