Hi

I’m having problems installing onto an old Dell Pentium Pro 200 (Dimension XPS Pro 200n),
A06 (latest) BIOS, Matrox Millenium video and Intel Pro100B NIC.

I’m installing from the ISO image (qnxrtp.iso) onto a native partition

Select F3 to install QNX

F1 Display The Partition Table

F1 use entire disk (8008M)

F1 to install QNX partition boot loader (recommended) [also tried installing the pre 97 BIOS boot loader, no difference]

[installation proceeds installing files]

Auto reboots

At this point, the instructions are unclear if I should be booting from CD / selecting F1 to Run from Hard Disk (default) or
removing CD and booting from IDE drive.

If I boot from the hard drive, boot hangs after several lines of ‘.’ unless I press to altboot.

Either way, booting from CD and selecting F1 or altbooting from IDE I get the following:

Generating a 128M swap file “/.swapfile”. You must have 256M to create it.

At this point I’m kind of confused. I’ve enclosed the installation instructions from get.qnx.com at the end of this message.
I’m assuming there are additional instructions somewhere (as referred to by the ph script error message?). Also, I have
no idea how to “Run the package installer”.

Would appreciate any help and/or advice. Especially pointers to more in-depth installation instructions.

Thanks

Method 2 - Partition Install

a… This method requires that you download and burn the CD-ROM (see previous method by CD-ROM) before beginning if you don’t
already have the June 29 (QNX RTOS v6.1.0) CD-ROM. The CD-ROM is bootable, so you need to insert the CD-ROM and reboot your machine.

b… Follow the prompts to install QNX. NOTE: You can choose to install a multi-partition boot loader that supports booting from
multiple partitions and multiple disks.
After Installation

Once you have successfully installed QNX and have it running, you can install the development packages and other packages using
these steps:

a… Run the package Installer and select “QNX WWW Repository”.

b… Use the Installer to download and install the other packages.
