an amateur with QNX

hello I guess I am a rookie. would ouy give some information on what kind of
applicatrions can I get for QNX, are there any graphic editors? and whether
it is possible that text or graphic files created in QNX to be read
ifterwards in windows applications?

Thanks Seal6

For a text processor there is port of AbiWord. For programming there is
very good work in progress called Workbench. For graphics, there is port
of GIMP. Yes, you can read files in Windows.

Nothing very sophisticated.

Text files under QNX are the same as Linux and Unix. Some Win programs
will handle them. For those that don’t, there is the textto program
which will convert them.

If you create a graphic file under QNX in a standard format, ie. BMP or JPG,
Windows will read it.

I don’t know about you but Gimp is more sophisticated than anything I
can ever imagine needing personally.

Where can I find Gimp?

http://qnx.wox.org/packages/6.1/ (this is a browsable package location)

You can also try using Vim, since it does have very well done Photon support.
Workspace is also starting to turn into a great Photon editor!
