max size of ramdisk in 4.25 ?

In my old 4.x manuals it says the max size for a ram disk is 8Mb

Any chance this this has been increased in the later patches ?

Were on 4.25 patch E,
Fsys32 4.24V Feb 18th 2000

Should work fine with any /dev/ram size. Personally i use 64Mb :slight_smile:

Also, you may not be aware of “vdir” which appears in the later versions of
4.25 and allows you to create RAM directories of any size and at any time.
If you want, they will even dynamically grow/shrink as required.

The current online docs say:
The size of an optional ramdisk, in units of 1K. The minimum size is 4K;
the maximum size is limited by available memory.
