I need to choose an RTOS for my app (XScale PXA250 based) which is very power-sensitive. So far QNX seems to be the best choice, but I still need some more info.
I know that I can put the CPU in a sleep mode in IdleThreadHook (or something like this). But I wonder if the ticks would still appear when there is nothing to do. I would like not to wake up the CPU every 10ms just to make sure that idle is the only active thread. Can I safely stop the timer interrupt before putting the CPU to bed? Or does QNX do it? I know that OSE is able to handle it. Can I do something like this without buying and hacking sources?
