Hello,
I would like to print from my QNX 6.2 SE box to a remote HP printer (PS).
I have created an entry in /etc/printcap for the printer. This entry
works from another machine (running FreeBSD).
When I start /usr/bin/lpd I get no erros. But trying ‘lpr’ I get the
polite message to Please start lpd.
Any pointers would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Hanif.
Run syslogd and look for errors. Look at /etc/syslog.conf.
touch /var/log/syslog
syslogd
lpd
cat /var/log/syslog
The /usr/spool/output directory has to exist for lpd to run.

I am also trying to print from qnx 6.2 and when i run lpr i get the reply as
please start lpd and I observed that
there is no such directory as /usr/spool/output in my qnx machine…does
this mean any error??
Thx,
Mankan
