install problem

Hello

I have installed QNX 4.25D on Gigabyte 8PE667 Motherboard with
Pentium4 (Intel 2,40B), but when I restart, the PC hangs at the
following message:
“Press Esc for alternate OS …”
Does anyone know how solve the problem?

Thanks
Marek

I don’t think QNX 4 supports the Pentium 4 processor.

Not true, QNX4 runs fine on Pentum 4. The issue is probably one of disk
geometery. I’ll let the disk experts comment further.

We use P4 2.0 and 2.4 GHz without a problem for our application, however,
I’ve found that the bootable information on the partition must be below 10GB
and we’ve also found that 40 GB Maxtor and Western Digital drives work
perfect, but the Seagate 40 GB drives only show up as 8 GB’s.

If there’s a MS partition on the drive, I’ve had to make it about 8GB or
less and then put QNX on the next bit of drive space, then if I need more MS
space, I put a D partition on after the QNX. Seems to work for us.

Regards
Dave
