Intel PRO 10/100 onboard

Would anyone know which Net.etherXXX will work with the onboard Intel PRO
10/100 network chipset? I know the 82557 doesn’t. I’m running 4.25C but have
access to 4.25E if necessary.

Thanks
Dave

I have used Net.ether82557 for the Intel Pro 10/100 chips. Some of
the newer chips may require a newer version of this driver. Mine is
dates Jan 11, 2001. If your is older, try to upgrade.

Thanks, I’ll try the 4.25E driver, because when I tried the 4.25C version it
didn’t want to work.
The HP EVO D510 has the Intel PRO on board and that’s the unit we’re trying
to use.

Thanks again…

Hi,

following a quote from qdn.public.qnx4.
Hugh’s tip solved my problem.

Hi ng,

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Scenic pc with Intel 82801BD PRO/100 VM (SUSE
Yast
installation told me).
On qnx4 supported hw network an intel 82801 is stated to run with
Net.ether82557.
That doesn’t work for me. Net.ether82557 tells “unable to locate adaptor”

Do a ‘show_pci’ and make a note of the PCI Vendor and Device IDs. Then you
can use the -V and -D command line options to the driver, passing the
Vendor and Device IDs to the driver.

eg Net.ether82557 -V8086 -D1039 &

That’s a great tip, I’ll give that one a try next week.

Thank you for sharing.

Best regards
Dave
