Hello all…
I’m new to QNX, just installed it today and it looks and performs great. I
have a few questions:
I installed AIM from one of the repositories but I don’t see it on my menus,
I see the dir on the HD, but can’t execute any of the files. It says
installed on the repository, how do I get it to work?
Since this looks [somewhat] like linux or *unix clone, are *unix software
packages compatable with QNX? What software is compatible with QNX?
Are people using QNX on home computers?
Thanks,
James Strickland

The “package” has to implicitly add a menu item. Try going
to the directory via a command prompt, and run it from there.
If you right-click on your desktop shelf, you can add a new menu
item, by directing it (via the dialogues) to the executable.

No, but a large amount of source code can be compiled for QNX6.
In a lot of causes, it is a straight compile, in others it can/does
require porting.

The NC (non-commercial) version, yes.
