Newbie QNX Login Question

Hello,

I have never used QNX, but a friend sent me the following request.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

We have QNX RCP 6.1 install in a graphical user interface (human
machine interface HMI) (pretty much like a PC. When the operating
system starts, right after loading the drivers and so on, appears a
login: where I need to write root, and right after I need to write the
path to our application to start the system. Although this will not be a
problem with a standard PC, it is a problem for us, as the graphical
interface has no keyboard attached, and therefore we can not type the
login and path.

Here is my problem, here in the company we are new at QNX, and we do not
know what to do in order to make this steps automatically. That is,
start the QNX OS, and automatically start our application withour need
for us to type anything. We know there is a way to do it, but we do not
know how. maybe is creating a script to be run while the OS is loading,
or a file is access to rigth before the login part or right after in
order to insert automatically the commands and the path.

Hm… QNX 6.1, I don’t remember for sure what the startup sequence
for that was.

Basically, something is comming along and running login on a
terminal device. They want to replace whatever runs the login
utility with something that runs their application.

Places to look:

/etc/rc.d/
/etc/system/sysinit
/boot/build/

Thank you.
