Install

QNX Newsgroups (Archives) qdn.public.qnx4

I am trying to install QNX 4.24 on an IDE system. When it asks for disk 1
(floppy) it gives me an error “file in frozen format” and does not continue.
Any ideas?

Are you using the install utility to install QNX4?
Is this the original QNX floppies or are they downloaded from quics?

I have tried both, I need the originals for the serial but even if I extract
the serial I still get the same message. “stdin: not in frozen format” “pax:
no input”. I have had QNX running on this particular system in the past with
no troubles. Yeas I am using the install utility.

in fact a bad disk…

Do you mean floppy or hard disk, if you mean floppy we just recreated it
fresh like and the hard disk passes all of the QNX tests no problem.

/updates/qnx42/Released/qnx424/qnx424.diskset.tar.F
the cksum should be

4220325247 6547779 qnx424.diskset.tar.F
