DHCP

Hi
We are trying to move our QNX machines from a fixed IP network to a DHCP
network with lots of Win NT and Solaris clients on the Network. We have
QNX ver 4.24. Now my question is does it support DHCP networks? I tried
looking for the dhcp.client utility but couldn’t find it. If 4.24
doesn’t support DHCP, is there way to get these boxes onto the network?

Thanks in advance,

Have you looked in /usr/ucb for dhcp.client. I found it there.
I think I’m on version tcprt425C.

The dhcp.client was not released until the 4.25 release of tcpip. If you
are going to upgrade, be aware that we are up to 4.25 with a release of
a patch D.

Can I just download the latest patch of tcprt for QNX4 from the website and
install it?
Also looks like our QNX license was bought before Dec 1999, so I may also need
to get that Install CD that is mentioned on the website.

Thanks,
Santosh

You can download the update from ‘QUICS archives and Product Registration’ by
loggin in and downloading the patch from your /updates directory. Or, you
can download the patch from the ‘CD arhive format’. If you don’t have the
correct cd installer, you can contact your local sales office to obtain a
recent cd.

Thanks,
Heather
