Does QNX support any modems that can work with digital phone
lines. We have a customer requiring this capability and need
to know if there is a H/W option for us.

I’ve never heard of such a beast (I work for Nortel Networks). Most
digital/PBX systems can provide analog lines as opposed to digital ones.
On the Norstar system these are known as ATA’s (Analog Telephone
Adapter). It connects to a digital line and provides an analog line out
from there. There are other options available such as multi-port
line-cards that perform this function at the KSU.
I’d find out what type of digital phone system your customer is using
and then contact the vendor for a solution.
You’ll be unlikely to ever find a modem that can connect directly to
a digital phone system simply because there are no standards for how
the work. Each vendor tends to use a proprietary system, often based
on proprietary hardware ASICs. That means that the “digital” phone line
from a Nortel system will be different than one from Lucent, NEC, etc…
Cheers,
Camz.
