Qnx4.25C
Qnx4 is the host, and other OS machine is the client.
The other machine connects via ftp to our Qnx4 machine, and wants to stay
connected through long periods of inactivity.
Is there a way to specify to ftpd not to timeout, rather than the maximum of
7200 seconds?
Thanks,
ms…

“-t” ?
$ use ftpd
ftpd [-d] [-l] [-t timeout] [-T maxtimeout] [-b] [-k] [-f timeout]
Options:
-d Debugging information is written to the syslog.
-l Each ftp session is logged in the syslog.
-t N The inactivity timeout period is set to N seconds.
-T N Allow a client to change the inactivity timeout to less than N.
-b Allow client to specify a remote IP address in the PORT command.
-k Do not keep data connection alive.
-f Timeout for file operations in min (Default/Max 120 : 0 no timeout)
-xtang
Doesn’t 0sec disable the timeout?

That seems to do it.
I put “-t0” into inetd.conf for ftpd.
What had me confused was when I tried to change the idle time while
connected with ftp.
It came back saying time must be between 30 and 7200 seconds, so therefore
the question.
