QNX 4.25 at 33 MHz ?

Hello,
I work with QNX 4.25 on arcom Elan 104NC.
It’s impossible to log on Qnx 4.25 at 8, 16 or 33 MHz (telnet, ftp or
rlogin)
At 66MHz and 99MHz it’s all right …
You know why ?

Something’s way wrong. We’ve run a whole lot of processes (~150) in an OLTP
environment on 486/33 systems with dual FLEET LANs, 72 async modems and so
on. If you can’t even log in then there’s something hogging all of your CPU
cycles. Check “sin times” and look for large CPU numbers.

Heck, I remember the days when we had 16 people logged in to a local BBS at
1200 baud on a 4.77Mhz PC with 640k RAM running QNX2 and a dumb 16-port
serial card! It continues to amaze me how Windows and the C++ craze can
reduce an 800Mhz PC to a crawl when I look at what we used to be able to get
done with one millionth of the horsepower.

I’m not familiar with that board, but are setting of 8MHz “legal”,
the card my be driver the network chip with invalid timing.

Well if my memory is right, the keyboard is clocked by the PC.
If that clock be out of spec the keyboard may not work.

Oh so it does boot, I though it wasn’t booting at all.
Login as root runs the /etc/profile command, maybe
there is something in there that it doesn’t like? Was
the profile file changed?

Can you network in the machine from another node?
