Driver for Intel 82562ET network chipset?

Hello.

I was wondering if there was any network driver for the Intel 82562ET
chipset, which is used in the built-in network cards in the Dell
computers we use. The cards are Intel Pro/100 VE cards. Is there a
driver for QNX 4?

We don’t have this chipset in our Net.ether82557 driver. According to
the Intel site, this chipset is 82559 compatible. The site also states
that this adapter uses a special communications riser board. Do you have
the riser board and the adapter? What PC are you running this on?
If you try the Net.ether82557 driver with the -V and -D options for the
Vendor and Device IDs, does it work?

Well, some good news and some bad news. The good news is that I tried
the -V and -D options to the Net.ether82557 driver and it works great -
thanks for the easy fix! The bad news is, I don’t exactly know how to
answer your question about the riser board. The computer in question is
a Dell Dimension 4100 and the ethernet stuff is built into the
motherboard, so I am not sure about the riser board.

Hello,

We also are using the same computer and having the same problems. The system is using QNX4.24, but
we copied the June 2000 CD versions of Net, Net.ether82557, and netinfo into the /bin directory.

Initially starting the driver with just the port and irq cmd line parms causes the driver to
state it cannot find the NIC and exits.

Using the -V 8086 and -D 2449 options, the driver keeps running, but returns a MAC of 000000 000000.

We are using Net.ether82557 dated Feb 7, 2000.
