One more small question . .
If anyone is using this database I would appriciate if I could get some
input good and bad about this database.
What are your expiriences ??

we did first steps with the database from empress.
after setting up tcp/ip, disconect the DNS - Nameserver some were in the
net. Than QNX compers the IP-address from soket with den file /etc/hosts .
There it hopfully finds the name and the IP-address with is also in the
Demoversion of empress.They also deliver a tool to check that. After these
steps I was able to compile a database from their Demo Disk. I played with
already with line-based SQL-Interface.
It worked.
We are going to conect it via PHP4 to an apache Webserver …

Oh, great,
We will use it from Windows with JDBC to attach a Java application to the
database and so on . .
I just wanted to make some contact that uses the same DATABASE, that way we
can help eachother when we get problems . .

We have used empress. From the QNX perspective, there were no problems.
There are some issues with the ODBC implemention. We have had trouble making
it work with MS Windows ADO components.
The version we are using is 8.6.
Here the pricing is about equivalent with MS SQL Server.
Make sure you get the latest version (8.6) if you want ODBC access from MS
Windows.
