ftp

Hi.

I tried to install the TCP/IP 5 on my development machine. The installation
failed.
I restored the previous TCP/IP from another node.

Now I can’t ftp to this node from Windows machines. I can ftp to/from other
QNX nodes just fine. PING sees all the different IP addresses.

If I run FTP on the Windows machine, I type the user name and then the
password. After this I get the following error.

530 login incorrect
login failed

I can FTP to/from a QNX node machine to the development node with no
problems.

Can someone please help? I must of missed something, but I can’t figure out
what?

TIA

Augie

Sounds like a security/crypt patch thing. Is there a file named
/etc/shadow.qcrypt? If yes, does re-installing the 4.25 tcprt
security patch fix the problem?

BTW, in what way did the installation of Tcpip5 fail?

Yes, it’s there. I will have to try it, if I can’t get the TCP 5 to work.

The install when okay. When I run ‘netstart’, I get the following errors.

/usr/ucb/Socket: not found.
ifconfig: socket: No such process.

It looks like it can’t find Socket. Why? What do I do to fix this?

TIA

I think in Tcpip 5 that the executable is now called Tcpip, and not
Socket…
Maybe your netstart script needs some updating?

Where are these changes documented?

In the helpviewer help, for one. /etc/readme/tcprt424to5.changes
for another.

As a matter of fact, you may find quite a few goodies in /etc/readme.
