I have downloaded this release of QNX :
QNX Momentics v6.3 Product Evaluation - QNX Neutrino RTOS x86 Host
The livecd is working, but for install i got a problem :
After pre-configuring steps (partitions.bootloader…) the installation start then i have this message :
DINIT: can't open drive '/dev/hd0t79': No such file or directory
/proc/boot/dinit -Rhq /dev/hd0t79 : faild (12292 256)
Then, I can only reboot.
Any ideas ?
I suspect the system isn’t able to find your harddisk. Can you describe your system.
It’s finding it alright. I’ve never seen that output though.
Is the t79 partition a primary partition or is it inside an extended partition?
What’s the total size of the HDD?
Hello thanks for reply.
I got this from linux fdisk :
fdisk -l /dev/hda
Disk /dev/hda: 81.9 GB, 81964302336 bytes
16 heads, 63 sectors/track, 158816 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 = 516096 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 969 488344+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda2 970 6782 2929752 4e QNX4.x 2nd part
/dev/hda3 * 6783 12595 2929752 83 Linux
/dev/hda4 12596 158816 73695384 83 Linux
this is the master disk on ide1
the cdrom is master on ide2
I suspect problem with the table partition …
that’s interesting. it should be “4f QNX4.x 3rd part”. try to change it under Linux’ fdisk.
boot back with QNX CD, it should say “you already have a QNX partition” and you can “delete” and let QNX CD recreate it.
It was a problem with partitions NOT with the QNX Installer.
I made a new clean disk partition table with a “QNX4.x 3rd part” as type of my first partition (hda1) ond now it’s OK. The disk was a new one so I didn’t lost anything.
Sorry for noise.
Don’t be sorry, you help me learn stuff
