Problem with pppd on TCP/IP 5.0

Hi,

I download and install TCP/IP runtime and start using it butt I find
some problems.

Something going wrong when I try to connect to my ISP. For this I use
pppd and chat programs.

When I run command “pppd call ISP user my_username” chat program can’t
communicate with modem. Result of this is chat timeout because there no
answer from modem. All this with previus version work ok (Qnx 4.25D + TCP/IP
4.25C).
The chat works ok I test script with “chat -f ISP </dev/serx >/dev/serx”
and all
passed fine.

Thanks,
Ernest Simunic

Is Chat your program?

I’ve found that some/many/all (not sure which) programs need to be
recompiled/linked with the 5.0 libraries.

Chat is modem dial utility which is part of pppd source tarball. This

task don’t use
socket library and work only with serial port (modem).
Problem is that pppd maybe lock serial port and nothing goes out to
modem so timeout ocour because there no answer on command from modem…
