All,
Evaluating new SBC’s and I keep running into newer network chipsets that I
don’t see support for…
Intel 82801 + 82562EM (On most Intel 815E based boards)
RTL-8139B
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Jay

The latest Net.ether82557 should support this chipset. I can confirm this
with the output from ‘show_pci -v’.
RTL-8139B
Net.rtl.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hugh,
Thanks for the confirmation. The Intel docs didn’t mention any compatibility
with 82557 and the knowledgebase article on the RTL driver specifically
states it doesn’t support the “B” version…

I have looked at the knowledge base on our web site and I see that the A and
the B are versions are supported by Net.rtl. Where are you looking?
If you look at Intel’s web site, the 82562 uses the same driver as the
82559 chip, which is 82557 compatible.
Hugh.
