how do you unpack tarx?

Hi,

I see update packages on updates.qnx.com with the extension “tarx”. are
these to be unpacked with the controversial photon installer?

We don’t have Photon for QNX4, nor do we plan to purchase it. The
uncompressed tar files are about 25MB!. Would it be possible for you to
produce a .tgz or tar.F archive version of those files please?

Things used to be pretty easy and straight-forward on QUICS with “batch
ne”, download and then “/etc/install -u”.

Amen!

But, unfortunately, Rick, I don’t think QSSL gives a damn.

I just found qnx425E.tar.F on QUICS today, so I guess they must’ve heard
us talking

When I installed it, I ran into some login problems, though: For some
reason an older login became the main /bin/login and I couldn’t log in
anymore. Luckily I had another node in the network where I had root
access so I could restore the correct login…
