Realtek 8139c problems

I have found a problem with Net.rtl

If I copy files from source node to a destination node with a RTL8139c
chipset on the LAN I get messages like

“Can’t open sorce file … No such file or directory”

If the cp operation is repeated it will give error messages for other files
(maybe), if I keep trying then I can eventually copy all the files.

I have tried a RTL8029 chip using Net.ether1000 in the same machine and it
works fine.

I have tried another NIC (different manufacturer) with the RTL8139c and I
get exactly the same problem.

I’ve tried all sorts of things but no joy.

Can someone help…please

We only have 8139B’s here. Please supply the output from ‘sin ver’ as well
as ‘show_pci -v’. Is your adapter manufactured by Realtek or by somebody
else? Please supply details of adapter.

The NIC is a Allied Telesyn AT-2500, the other RTL8139 i’ve tried is on a
ICP Single Board Computer (JUKI-740E) - this i’ve just discovered has a
RTL8139 A fitted not the C as I thought.

The show_pci output here is with the SBC (RTL8139A)

We only have 8139B’s here. Please supply the output from ‘sin ver’ as well
as ‘show_pci -v’. Is your adapter manufactured by Realtek or by somebody
else? Please supply details of adapter.
