I used Bancomm before for DOS. They had a driver that needed to be loaded
in the config.sys file. Then you talked to the DOS driver.
Are there any drivers for QNX 4? Or did you do your own?
TIA

I forgot to ask you. Which card did you use the ISA or PCI based?
TIA

We used the ISA card.
If memory serves me correctly the driver attached to interrupt 3 which fired
every 1ms. Upon each interrupt the IRIG-B signal was read and the shared
memory regions were updated. Every ten seconds or so the driver would check
the OS time and sync it to its shared memory time and then every minute or
so it would update the BIOS.
All system applications would then use an API to get the absolute time or
the relative time via shared memory rather than the OS time (less chance of
being un-synchronized).
Diagnostic interfaces were added too so an application could query the
driver to see if the IRIG-B signal was present and whether or not it was
decoding (it would stop decoding and go fly-wheeling if the IRIG-B changed
by more than a specified amount).
