Traceinfo question

We are using QNX 4.25 and consistently get the following message in
traceinfo:

Jun 27 18:39:23 5 00005109 Scsi sense (unit=0 scsi=2 err=70h sense=5h
asc=20h ascq=0h)
Jun 27 18:39:23 5 00005109 Scsi sense (unit=0 scsi=2 err=70h sense=2h
asc=3Ah ascq=0h)
Jun 27 18:39:23 5 00005109 Scsi sense (unit=0 scsi=2 err=70h sense=2h
asc=3Ah ascq=0h)
Jun 27 18:39:23 5 00005109 Scsi sense (unit=0 scsi=2 err=70h sense=5h
asc=20h ascq=0h)
Jun 27 18:39:23 5 00005109 Scsi sense (unit=0 scsi=2 err=70h sense=2h
asc=3Ah ascq=0h)
Jun 27 18:39:23 5 00005109 Scsi sense (unit=0 scsi=2 err=70h sense=2h
asc=3Ah ascq=0h)

Can anyone tell me what is generating this. I assume something is sniffing
for SCSI devices (no SCSI devices exist). I would like to turn this off if
possible.

Thanks,

Dave Marker

What is running on the system? (output of sin).

Erick.

This is a “not ready” / “medium not present”. So probably a CD-ROM
without a loaded disc (harmless).

This is an “illegal request” / “invalid command” (probably harmless, the
CD-ROM is not reponding to an extended SCSI command - quite common).

These will be coming from a Fsys.* disk driver. Perhaps EIDE, as that
driver makes it “look SCSI” too. But, if you are running a driver for
which you have no hardware, then take it out of your boot file or sysinit.
If you don’t want the messages in the log, use “tracectrl” to reduce the
logging severity. Otherwise these look like harmless info messages …
