Writing to FAT32 a bit slow?

Hello again,
I was recently backing up some data files I had to a FAT32 partition. There
were only about 10 files, from 50 bytes to 50,000 bytes in size. It took a
very long time, so I timed it. Turns out it took about 35 seconds to copy
the files.

Is this normal? I’m wondering if there’s a problem with some of my
settings. I’m also wondering if Fatfsys doesn’t handle small files well? I
can copy files > 1MB to the partition in a fraction of the time (a 3.2 MB
file copied in 4 seconds).

Is there anything that can be done to speed this up a bit, or is it an
unfortunate problem?

TIA,
Ron

From my own experience this is not normal. Is it possible that your
Dos disk is badly fragmented?
