82801BA support under QNX4

Hi:
Can anyone tell me whether there is any 82801BA Audio support under QNX4?

If there isn’t any such support, is any driver code available as a starting
point to develop this support?

Thanks
Lionel

Hi Lionel,

At this time there is no support for this. What can be done though is
you can download the Alsa source code from here:

http://quics.qnx.com/cgi-bin/search/usr/free/?srch=Alsa&submit=submit&select=1

One of the Audio developers let me know that the .2 source should have code for
the i810 (you have an i815) in it. It SHOULD work, but you might have to do
some changes to the code to get it to go.

Take care.

Erick

I’m probably missing something here, but…
I had a look at the QNX4 ALSA code that you referenced and managed to get it
all built after some fiddling around. However, I see a directory structure
for building the i810 driver (its under the audiopci directory), but the
directory structure is empty - no sources, no Makefiles. The standard
audiopci driver looks for an Ensoniq interface and doesn’t find the 82801BA
hardware.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Lionel,

I checked the archive and confirmed that it is not in there. I talked
again to the developer and he remembered (it has been a while with that
code) that the Intel stuff was removed due to the fact that we have an
NDA signed with them and us posting the alsa stuff with their stuff in it
kinda hit a grey area. So it got pulled from the source.

The developer said that if you goto www.alsa-project.org and get the
source from there, you should be able to get the Intel source there,
however you will need to port it to QNX4 and do some back porting
to the .2 Alsa release, but he said that it is doable.

Erick.

Thanks for getting back to me on this - although it wasn’t really the answer

path or take a different route.
