Installing QNX 4.22 or 4.25 on IBM Thinkpad 870XL

We have an IBM Thinkpad 870XL we are trying to install QNX 4 on it. The
problems have to do with: the Thinkpad will not boot from CD. We can
have the CD-ROM or the floppy drive installed but not both. When I boot
from the 4.25 floppy it starts looking for the CD for installation. If
I boot the 4.22 floppy I can not get any commands to run. Like fdisk,
mount etc.

Anybody got an ideas.

Thanks in advance,

Larry

It is not clear why you cannot boot directly from CD (without bootdisk)…

Anybody got an ideas.

The reason that I can not boot from the CD is the Thinkpad’s Bios does not
support that option…

If you have a “Legacy account” on Quics, there is downloadable tarball
which can be made into a set of floppies. Or you can call QSSL to see
if they can send you a set.
