ftpd 5.6 configurations

I have some problem in configuring ftpd for QNX 4. Except ananymous user,
other users within my machine cannot access ftp with their own login and
password.

I am sured that I’ve checked the /etc/passwd, /etc/ftpusers, /etc/shells
files and I’ve done nothing wrong with that. I tried telnet the machine and
the user’s login process is ok. Problem only rises with ftpd. Pls advice any
possiblities …

(My QNX version is 4.25 and with ftpd 5.6)

If you are using the latest ftpd dated 5/30/2000, it requires the following:

  • a new /etc/shadow (previously qcrypted) use passwd (new) to create a new
one through telnet or via a shell.
  • login dated 4/26/2000
  • passwd dated 4/26/2000
  • su dated 5/23/2000
