TCPIP 5.0 and existing APPS

Hi,

We are thinking of upgrading some nodes from TCPIP 4.23 to 5.0. These nodes
run apache webserver and some RPC applications. All of these applications
have been compiled using the 4.23 toolkit. Initial testing show the apache
binaries runs just fine under 5.0. It is a bit more difficult to test the
RPC apps. We also would like to keep a common set of binaries for all our
sites.

Is it likely that we will have to recompile the RPC applications using the
5.0 toolkit?? Any experiences?

The only problem I have come across with TCP/IP 5.0 is with the new NFS
client when executing binaries over an NFS share. I got an unofficial patch
of the NFSfsys daemon from QSSL which solved the problem. But other then
that I have not come across any problems, mind you I haven’t had to run an
apache webserver or any RPC applications. My post is basically FYI.
