QNX Boot Issue

I dd’ed a QNX image to another hard drive and tried to boot. It works on the
same machine, however when I go to an older 366 the boot loader doesnt get
passed 3 dots.
Any suggestions?

The things I know:
Hard drive is recognized correctly
Boot loader exists and works
Image is correct because I can boot it from another machine and get to a
prompt
The older machine can handle QNX becuase we had it on there before.

Thanks!

Almost always a OS/BIOS/IDE drive mapping issue. How big was the disk?

Well, not the 8G problem. But you might want to check the mapping
of the drive specified in the BIOS for both machines, and make sure
it matches.

Ah, but it might be the 528Mb problem… The original BIOS code could
only
map about 528Mb. Then they introduced LBA (in two different forms!), and
extended CHS
addressing. There were quite a few different default mappings right up
through 486s, IIRC.
It would take a while, but I might still find the files I printed so
long ago! Unless you
put a Promise EIDE extender card in both machines, you can’t be sure the
BIOS mapping is
the same in the 386 and your newer machine!

I had a similar problem, try using the old boot loader with the rotating
arrow.
