Does QNX4.25 need the registry directory to function correctly?

I would also like to know the answer to this. A search of the Knowledge
Base yields nothing. I renamed the directory and the stuff I tried still
works, but what about all the stuff I have not tried? Is this directory an
artifact of installing from CD vs. floppy, or is it part of one of the
patches? Systems installed with unpatched 4.25 from floppy do not have this
directory, and they work just fine.

The registry directory is only used by the installer to find out what is
already installed on your system. The registry does not affect the running
of the system at all.
