Crash Recovery

Hello,

We have been having problems with a system crashing from time to time.
The problem is that the mouse and keyboard completely lock up. Is there
anyway to QNX to shutdown at that point. Even if we have to do it over the
network, it would be fine. Does anyone have any advice on this?

shutdown -n node_number

can be used to shut down a machine accross the network.

Please followup in this newsgroup if you have further questions.

Sometimes this is due to a high-priority process using up all of the CPU.
Leave a shell running at a very high priority, and, if this is the problem,
you should be able to examine the system and shut it down with the
high-priority shell.

Hmmm,
that’s an excellent idea, I never thought of that. Thanks Kevin.
