netmask

Hi,

Anybody knows how to specify a netmask with ifconfig (or something else)?
I try to do something like
ifconfig en1 192.168.0.106 netmask 255.255.0.0 up

but the netmask stay at 255.255.255.0

I’m pretty sure 192.x.x.x is a class C address, but you are trying to
give it a class B netmask – this is called “supernetting” or something
like that.

TCP/IP for QNX4 version 4.25 did not support super-netting. I think
that TCP/IP for QNX4 5.00 does support super-netting – you may have
to upgrade if you need to do that.
